Defective Giant Wooden Marbles

Wood products are not necessarily defective when they have knots on them. Knots are a natural part of the woodgrain and are formed when branches grow from the trunk of a tree. The knots remain visible on the surface when the tree is cut and processed into lumber. The presence of knots does not indicate a defect in the wood, it is simply a part of the character of the wood. Knots can add interest and texture to wood products and are often used as a design element in furniture and other woodworking projects. Wood products with knots are as strong and durable as wood without.

We sort these as imperfect/defective because they have knots, hairline cracks, and uneven cutting or alignment but they are beautiful, unique, safe, and functional.
