What’s new in this? It’s easily available in the market, right?
I always wanted to buy this alphabet set for my son but cheaper ones are of comprising quality and premium ones are costly. I believe Moveable Alphabets is versatile Montessori material. A child can learn vowels, consonants, sounds, and CVC words, make sentences, match upper case letters with small letters, guess the starting and ending sounds, create stories and so much more!! 🧑🎓
So what’s the difference in Endow Montessori moveable alphabets?
We have made this set after testing it with children just like we do with any other toys. We wanted it to be affordable without compromising on quality considering its vast usage which was necessary. 👫
First, we made thinner alphabets to cut the cost but children found it challenging to pick the alphabet from the surface. So we came up with thicker ones. ❣️
Next, we thought to make a simple lightweight tray for storage. In a Montessori environment, children are encouraged to handle their materials to and fro from shelves. While testing tray broke easily if fallen by children. Hence we came up with a sturdy storage tray that can easily bear a child’s handling. 💪
Next, while testing we saw children were not arranging letters in line which is quite obvious because they didn’t have lines to guide them while arranging letters. To overcome this we made an A4 size red and blue lines mat. Arranging letters on the mat made it easy for children to write in notebooks. ✨
In the Montessori method, lowercase letters are first taught to children hence we first curated lowercase letters. Alphabets are colored on both sides and made from Russian birch plywood.
Small parts are not suitable for children below 3 years. Parent supervision is necessary.
We will love to curate letters if parents wish to have them in cursive or any other language. ☺️
