Wood products are not necessarily defective when they have knots on them. Knots are a natural part of the woodgrain and are formed when branches grow from the trunk of a tree. When the tree is cut and processed into lumber, the knots remain and are visible on the surface. The presence of knots does not indicate a defect in the wood, it is simply a part of the character of the wood. Knots can add interest and texture to wood products and are often used as a design element in furniture and other woodworking projects. Wood products with knots are just as strong and durable as wood without knots.
We sort these as imperfect/defective because those have knots, hairline cracks, uneven cutting or alignment but they are beautiful, unique, safe and functional.
Kindly note : Defective items are not eligible for returns.
